Please listen to these songs. They need love. Or don't, but if you don't, I don't know why you're here.
Secrets of the Sky, "Eternal Wolves"
Obviously, this is metal. I mean, come on. "Eternal Wolves"? So corny. Anyway, this is doom metal, one of the more theatric branches of the metal family tree, which is all about long build ups. I'm pretty hit or miss on doom in general, as sometimes the payoff isn't really there for me.
Toots & the Maytals, "Never You Change (Take 3)"
From Sensational Ska Explosion, which is as advertised. Unlike doom metal, the Maytals always have a payoff. That payoff is making you happy.
Polvo, "Sure Shot"
This song is amazing. I shouldn't even call it one song. It's more like four songs, played overlapping. I regret never getting the chance to see Polvo back in the day.
Buzzkill, "Better This Way"
One of the more straightforward punk songs from Buzzkill.
Young Fresh Fellows, "Three Sides To This Story"
In another one of those records that transport me back to a place, this album takes me back to my mother's basement, listening to it while playing some dumb game on my computer. I could do worse for memories!
