As I mentioned last time, Plaid was around for a long time, but I only picked up a couple of albums. I feel like you can really only deeply know a few genres, and electronic stuff has gotten squeezed out of my brain for no good reason. I'm sure I'll go on a binge at some point.

I've always loved Mike D's drum break in this song. I should try and play it. That'll probably bug Megan proper!
The Pyramids, "Monks"
Another day, another Pyramids track that I'm not entirely sure what to make of. There's something kind of cinematic about it, which is fun. I dunno, this thing just tickles my brain right.
James Brown, "Money Won't Change You"
The Hardest Working Man in Show Business two days in a row! This song is from 1966, when he was really going full speed, but at the early end of his really crucial period.
Stevie Wonder, "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life"
I'm never really sure how much to write about huge artists of the past. From my viewpoint, everybody knows who Stevie Wonder is - after all, I grew up with him on the radio! But, of course, my experiences are mine, and how much do my reader/listeners know? (I could probably ask both of them.) So, I'll just be brief here, knowing we'll hear plenty from Stevie Wonder later: this is from Talking Book, one of his masterpieces, where his soul and funk intersected with his increasingly personal songwriting to create one of the warmest albums you'll ever hear. This, for instance, is just a love song, but it's a gorgeous love song.
