Versus, "Shower Song"

Nice drums on this tune! This is from the second Versus record, and it's a more muscular tune than I remember them putting out. I'll be honest, I haven't listened to Versus in decades (outside of the tracks that show up here), and it's kind of interesting reflecting how bands collapse down into stereotypes in our memory. Versus is a pop band in my brain, but this is pretty rockin'.

Silkworm, "Little Sister"

Even a Blind Chicken Finds a Kernel of Corn is a compilation, pulling together the first Silkworm album (L'ajre), along with some EPs and singles from the same time period. It's a little rougher than their later work, but there's still plenty of excellent stuff on it, and it's definitely recommended if you're a fan of the band.

NoMeansNo, "I See a Mansion in the Sky"

Multiple six minute songs in a row, I'm loving it. This is from the final proper NoMeansNo album, All Roads Lead to Ausfahrt, which if streaming services are to be believed, is the only NoMeansNo record. Or at least was, I'm not going to check.

SWANS, "Annaline"

And then in an upset, a latter-day SWANS song that clocks in under six minutes. Upside-down world here. This is from What is This?, an album of demos that was a limited edition release to fund recording for Leaving Meaning. As you might expect from that description, it's largely just for fans, but that's me.

Sebadoh, "Sorted Up Wonder (Supernatural Force)**

Not a bad wrapup here today.
