It was wobbly a few times there, but another month in the books. As always, thanks for sticking with me here!

BIG|BRAVE, "Do.No.Harm.Do.No.Wrong.Do.No.Harm.Do.No.Wrong.Do.No.Harm.Do.No.Wrong"

If you were just given the data above, the name of this song and the name of this band, I wonder how close you'd get to guessing that it sounds like this kind of abrasive drone? I think I'd guess something pretty outré, at any rate, so I might get pretty close to "early Swans, I guess?" But that's easy for me to say, I already knew what this sounded like.

Cannibal Ox, "Raspberry Fields"

Cannibal Ox's The Cold Vein is a revered indie hip-hop release, and is one of the early records that really cemented El-P as one of the great producers out there. Because the beats are all so futuristic sounding, it remains a great sounding release, which is not always true of older hip-hop albums.

Big Business, "Last Legs"

A little one-minute song from Big Business that goes nowhere in particular when heard outside the context of the album.

PUP, "Morbid Stuff"

The opening song of my favorite album of 2019, it really gets you ready for the aesthetic of this album: clever lyrics that are about serious things but still sound light, combined with absolutely ridiculously catchy songs. What a great record.

The Emotions, "Put A Little Love Away"

We've got a pretty late Stax single here, with the strings usually being a pretty good giveaway that it's late in the run. Still sounds nice, though.
