Bought tickets to see Shellac today. Nice! Today's music.

The Cows, "Camouflage Monkey"

More old stuff from the Cows. This was originally on Daddy Has A Tail, when the Cows were still very much still figuring out what the hell they were doing. I'm not suggesting they ever figured it out, exactly, but they became more confident in their nonsense.

Sorcier des Glaces, "The Frozen Sword of Midnight"

I hope that, one day, there will be some rapper or something who makes a song called something like "The Frozen Sword of Midnight" (it will probably be one associated with the Wu-Tang Clan). In the meantime, you'll have to rely on metal bands to get your "somehow this sounds like a doodle on a Trapper Keeper" vibe. Does this song start with weather noises? You know it! Are there candelabras on the album cover? Fuck and yes there are! Is the track longer than nine minutes? GODDAMN RIGHT IT IS!

Song doesn't really go anywhere, though.

Grand Puba, "Up & Down"

This comes from FatBeats Compilation, Vol. 1, a comp album put out by a retail store to try and move into the music industry. This is Grand Puba, of Brand Nubian fame, doing a solo track. It's a solid song, and a decent comp.

The Scofflaws, "Goin' Back To Kingston"

There's something kind of gross about this song, truthfully. I mean, I suppose it's nice that they're acknowledging the original source of the genre, but it doesn't exactly feel great. It's also one of the weaker Scofflaws songs.

Al Green, "Tired Of Being Alone"

Now, that's much better. Thanks for making it all better, Al. This comes from the first album of Green's essential four-album group, Gets Next To You. Now, I'm just going to shut up and let you enjoy it.
